Former world boxing champion Austin “No Doubt” Trout makes his return to BKFC on 6 December.
Trout (4-0, 1 KO), a former BKFC welterweight champion, will move down in weight to face former two-division champion Luis Palomino (10-1, 3 KOs). The lightweight bout headlines BKFC 86 at the Hard Rock Hotel in Hollywood, Florida.
It’s a rematch. Trout outboxed Palomino to win the welterweight title by unanimous decision early last year. Palomino, a two-division champ, has since moved back to lightweight, beating contender Howard Davis on points in March.
The Trout-Palomino rematch is the second semifinal in the four-man tournament to crown a new BKFC lightweight champion. Argentina’s Franco Tenaglia was stripped of the belt for taking an MMA fight a week before his scheduled title defence vs Tony Soto.
Britain’s Ben Bonner will meet Tenaglia in the first semifinal on 25 October at BKFC Rome.
BKFC 86 will be streamed live globally on DAZN starting at 12am UK time on 7 December (7pm local time in Florida).
The next BKFC event, BKFC Fight Night Hammond, takes place on 19 October. Undefeated welterweight contender Bryce Henry takes on Roderick Stewart in the main event.
