Bally’s Fightnight by BKB: Full 9 January Fight Card

BKB Bare Knuckle announced the full fight card for this week’s inaugural “Bally’s Fightnight by BKB” event.

“Bally’s Fightnight by BKB” takes place this Thursday 9 January in Biloxi, Mississippi, USA.

Biloxi’s Hard Rock Hotel & Casino hosts the hostilities. The Bally Sports Live app and Stadium FAST channel will stream the action live.

Veteran contenders Brown and Taylor Collide in Rematch

As previously reported, former champ and hometown hero Monica “Phenomemom” Medina faces Monica Franco in the women’s lightweight main event.

The co-main event is between two veteran bare knuckle contenders who don’t need to be introduced to hardcore fans.

Bobby Taylor (6-3) collides with Martin Brown (4-2) in a bout with title fight implications.

Both fighters showcased their skills in BKFC before moving over to BKB. Brown challenged for the BKFC lightweight belt, losing by UD to then-champion Luis Palomino. He needed less than a round to stop veteran Will Chope in his BKB debut.

A combat sports all rounder, Brown is also 8-0 as a pro boxer and 14-5 in MMA. He’ll look to repeat a 2021 decision victory over the rugged Taylor.

Taylor has stopped four out of six opponents. His losses besides the Brown defeat are to UFC vet Jeremy Stephens and former title challenger James Lilley.

It could be the last major fight for both competitors. Taylor is 47 and Brown is 41. Neither has anything to lose.

Fan Favourites Turner, Nguyen in Action

In other action, BKB fan favourite Tommy “The Samurai” Turner (2-3, 2 KOs) faces winless Nathan Mitchell (0-4) in a super middleweight bout.

All of Turner’s fights have ended in the first round. He stopped Henry Williams in his debut before he was blasted out by Barrie Jones and LT Nelson. In his last fight, Turner was stopped in just 32 seconds by Michael Abadsantos.

Mitchell makes his bare knuckle return after a 37-month absence. He’s faced the likes of Tom Shoaff, Ryan Jett and Brandon Shavers while hunting for his first bare knuckle victory.

The popular Nguyen (2-2) returns to BKB to face Cristina Crist (1-2) in a women’s super flyweight showdown.

Other Bouts

Ukraine’s Ihor Blazenko (2-0) meets the 1-0 Eduardo Perez in a super welterweight clash.

Nate Roberts (1-0) meets Terrell Ursery (0-0) in a super heavyweight confrontation.

Local fighters Jeff Denton and Douglass Freeman face Christopher Gonzalez and Douglas Villar in super welterweight and super middleweight bouts.

The remaining bout matches lightweights Dejuan Robinson and Dan Wilson.
