Cub Hawkins seemed on the verge of defeat.
The reigning BKB Light Heavyweight champion had been knocked down 3 times in the second round by Jesse Ronson. Ronson had battered Hawkins to body and head in the clinch.
But the resilient Hawkins dug down and found a way to win. He let his hands go and stayed out of the corners in round three, and hurt Ronson with a counter right.
The two exchanged shots after a clinch and Hawkins dropped Ronson with a right to the temple. The groggy Ronson couldn’t beat the referee’s count and the fight was waved off.
Hawkins improved to 10-1 (9 KOs) with the win. It was the first successful light heavyweight title defence by Hawkins, who also holds the promotion’s cruiserweight title.

Ramirez Captures Featherweight Title
In the co-feature, Cuba’s Yampier Ramirez defeated Wales’s Ash Williams by second-round TKO to win the formerly vacant BKB Featherweight Title.
Ramirez just had too much quickness and firepower for the game Williams. He knocked the Wales fighter down twice in the first round, and again with a big left in round two. Ramirez opened up with a defenceless Williams on the ropes and the referee stopped the fight.
Ramirez improved to 4-0 with the win. Williams is now 3-1.
Fernandez Wins Super Cruiser Belt, Earns “Knockout of the Night”
Mexico’s Julian Fernandez won the BKB super cruiserweight belt with a devastating first-round knockout of Yorkshire’s Alex Wilson.
The taller Fernandez probed with his left jab early. He landed a right that dropped Wilson. After Wilson got up and the fight resumed, Fernandez stepped in with a right that dropped Wilson on his face.
Wilson rolled over and motioned to the referee he’d had enough and the fight was waved off.
The dramatic one punch ending earned Fernandez “Knockout of the Night” honours.
