BKB Bare Knuckle announced the main event for its inaugural Bally’s FightNight by BKB event taking place on 9 January in Biloxi,
Mississippi.
Former women’s lightweight champion and Biloxi area resident Monica Medina (2-4) returns to the Mighty Trigon against Monica Franco in the main event.
Medina, nicknamed “Phenomemom”, will look to snap a three-fight losing streak versus Franco in the “Battle of the Monicas”.
Medina unsuccessfully challenged for the Police Gazette Title in her debut, losing a split decision to Paty Juarez. She then beat Jessica Link on points before avenging the Juarez loss by unanimous decision.
Juarez prevailed on points in the rubber match. Medina has fallen into a rough patch since then, with back-to-back stoppage losses to Helen Peralta and Lailane Mota. She gets the chance to get back on track against Franco in front of the Biloxi faithful.
Franco (1-1) made her gloveless debut in 2023, winning a split decision over Khortni Kamyron. She lost her second bout to unbeaten prospect Rosalinda Rodriguez by third-round stoppage.
Franco will look to impress in her BKB debut against Medina. A win elevates her to contender status in BKB after previously competing in another organisation.
