BKFC 68 Newcastle Results: Faulkner KOs Oscar in Instant Classic

Agi Faulkner captured the BKFC European Heavyweight Title tonight with a thrilling second-round KO of David Oscar. The title bout headlined BKFC 68 at the Utilita Arena in Newcastle.

Faulkner landed a big right early, following with another right that dropped Oscar.

Oscar battled back, knocking Faulkner down and it looked like the tables had turned.

But Faulkner caught Oscar, dropping him again. Oscar got up again, only to get knocked down for the fourth time in the round.

Controversy rose at the end of round one. Faulkner landed a big right after the bell, and Oscar went to the canvas. The punch was clearly late, with the referee taking a point from Faulkner at the start of round two.

Faulkner downed Oscar with a left seconds into round two. The referee had seen enough, waving off the fight.

It was an action-packed brawl while it lasted. Faulkner went past the first round for the first time since joining BKFC, improving his record to 3-0 with 3 KOs.

Oscar showed the heart and courage that makes him one of BKFC UK’s most exciting fighters. He’s now 4-2 in the squared circle.

Cooke Wins UK Light Heavyweight Title

Northern Ireland’s Connor Cooke won the BKFC UK Light Heavyweight Title, outboxing Matty Hodgson over five rounds.

The judges scored the bout unanimously for Cooke by scores of 50-45 across the board.

Cooke was accurate with his left jab and hook, and kept the fight at distance. Hodgson landed a clean punch that got Cooke’s attention in the middle rounds, with Cooke wisely grabbing to avoid further damage.

Cooke improved to 4-1 in BKFC with the win. The loss snapped Hodgson’s four-fight winning streak.

Ben Bonner, Anthony Holmes Score Spectacular KOs at BKFC 68 Newcastle

Two exciting one-punch knockouts happened tonight.

Ben Bonner handed Lewis Keen his first loss, knocking out the hometown lad with a huge right hand in round one.

Holmes rebounded from recent losses with a powerful knockout of Chaz Wasserman.

In another notable bout, Karl Thompson improved to 3-0 with a third-round knockout of Dawid Chylinski. An aggressive Chylinski pressured Thompson early, connecting with some shots and causing a swelling under Thompson’s left eye.

But Thompson settled down and starting landing clean shots on the granite-chinned Chylinski.

He eventually hurt the Pole, knocking him down in round three to get a knockout win. Thompson improves to 3-0 in BKFC with the win.
