BKFC 82: Perry vs Stephens Results

Mike Perry proved he’s the baddest man in bare knuckle.

“Platinum” was too much for Jeremy Stephens, wearing him down en route to a fifth-round stoppage Saturday in New Jersey. The fight headlined BKFC 82 before a large crowd at the Prudential Center.

Stephens got the better of round one, landing some clean rights to the head. Perry took the blows well and continued pressuring “Lil Heathen”.

In round two, Perry took control, landing some good uppercuts on the inside as he continued the pressure. Stephens seemed to be slowing down.

Perry banged a right to the body as he continued walking Stephens down in the third. He landed some good right uppercuts in the clinch, and scored the first knockdown of the fight. Stephens got up and slumped on the ropes after the round ended.

Left uppercuts from the half=Thai plum took more out of Stephens in round four. Perry knocked him down with a right to the body followed by an uppercut. Stephens slowly got up but went down again. Cut over the left eye and exhausted, Stephens looked like a beaten fighter.

Perry closed the show in the fifth. Stephens landed a clean right seconds in the round-it was his last hurrah. Perry’s pressure and power forced three more knockdowns, with the referee stopping the fight to protect the lion-hearted Stephens. Perry celebrated with a back flip and break dancing routine.

“It is fitting I’m the King of Violence,” Perry told BKFC’s Cyrus Fees after the bout.

“It makes sense. I can take it. It’s nothing to me but just a little candy,” he said.

“They throw that candy at me and I munch on it all day long. I felt like I was going to be invincible, unstoppable. He threw some decent shots, I guess.”

BKFC co-owner and UFC superstar Conor McGregor praised Perry for his performance after the fight and said he’d like to face Perry one day.

Next up for Perry could be a grudge match with BKFC Middleweight Champion Dave Mundell. Mundell was ringside and entered the fight for a face-off. Perry previously beat Mundell in MMA, and the two fighters had to be separated at the BKFC Summit in July.

Christine Ferea Knocks Out Borga

Christine Ferea proved again she has no equal in women’s bare knuckle, scoring a spectacular one-punch KO of Jessica Borga.

The longtime BKFC flyweight champion added the promotion’s new “Queen of Violence” belt with the win.

Ferea knocked Borga down seconds into the bout, but was knocked down herself later in round one. Ferea outboxed Borga for the remainder of the round.

Ferea controlled the fight with distance and her boxing skills before finding the opening in round four. A right hand caught Borga as she was moving away, dropping her for the count.

“We practiced that all camp,” Ferea said of the punch that felled Borga.

In her postfight interview, Ferea credited Borga for her performance and sent best wishes to her brother who’s fighting cancer.

Jimmie Rivera Defeats Timmy Mason; Retires

In the BKFC 82 feature fight, UFC veteran Jimmie Rivera stopped Timmy Mason in the third round.

Rivera knocked Mason down in every round, but was dropped himself in the second stanza.

The referee stopped the fight after Mason went down early in round three.

After the bout, local hero Rivera announced it’s his last fight, although he would return to face fellow New Jersey native and former UFC champ Frankie Edgar.
