More fights have been added to BKFC Fight Night Derby, taking place on 13 December at Vaillant Live in Derby.
As previously reported, Northern Ireland’s Conor Cooke meets Anthony Holmes for the vacant BKFC UK Light Heavyweight Title in the main event.
The BKFC Derby co-main event is now official. Unbeaten bantamweight Bradley Taylor (3-0, 2 KO) meets Brian Hyslop (1-0, 1 KO) in a bantamweight (135 lb limit) contest.
Taylor started his BKFC career with two wins in the BKFC Prospect Series. He won a unanimous decision over Robbie Brown in his last bout at BKFC 68 last November.
Scotland’s Hyslop is an 11-fight MMA veteran. He won his bare knuckle debut by first-round stoppage at an Impact BKB event in Edinburgh this past June.
The BKFC Derby Featured fight pits Leigh Cohoon (2-0, 2 Kos) against newcomer Cory Hardy.
BKB Hall of Famer Nelder Takes on Leadbetter
In other action, BKB veteran Ricky Nelder faces Danny Leadbetter. Nelder looks for his first BKFC win after losing by TKO to Mariusz Siwiak at BKFC Birmingham last June.
Nelder fought 10 times for BKB, according to Boxrec. He went 5-4-1 in the promotion between 2016-2021 and “The Birmingham Bull” was inducted into the BKB Hall of Fame.
The Siwiak loss came in Nelder’s first bare knuckle fight in almost four years. Leadbetter has competed in “hybrid boxing” (boxing with MMA gloves) and bare knuckle. He’s looking for his first bare knuckle win after losses to Dan McGraffin and Ash Gibson and a draw with Peter Hayes.
Other BKFC Derby Confirmed Bouts
Robbie Brown (3-3) will face Lewis Knox (4-2) in a featherweight bout.
Brown’s 3-3 record is deceiving. His losses have come to heavy handed Jonno Chipchase, contender Gary Fox, and the unbeaten Taylor.
Knox has competed for the Bad to the Bone promotion and is making his BKFC debut. He scored a big win in September, traveling to Australia and stopping Tamian Black in an event promoted by Australian boxing legend Anthony “The Man” Mundine.
Liam Hutchinson (1-1) faces debuting Luke Brassfield in a middleweight bout.
Tommy Carus, a 13-fight pro boxing veteran, makes his bare knuckle debut against Tommy Hawthorn, a Cage Warriors veteran who has competed in modified-rules boxing.
A women’s fight has also been added to the card. Terri Diamond faces Meghan O’Neill in a battle of debuting lady featherweights.
BKFC Fight Night Derby will be broadcast live on the BKFC app. The event starts at 7pm UK time, which is 2pm EST.
