Parker Porter remained unbeaten with a third-round TKO of Haze Wilson Saturday night in the BKFC Fight Night Mohegan Sun 3 main event.
Porter (4-0) rose from a first-round knockdown to beat Wilson (4-2) in a spirited battle. The ringside physician didn’t allow Wilson to come out for round four because of a badly swollen left eye.
After the bout, Porter said he wants to challenge for the BKFC heavyweight title. Andrei Arlovski is the current champion and will likely defend against top ranked Leonardo Perdomo sometime this year.
“I want that belt,” Porter told BKFC’s Chris Lytle.
“I didn’t come here to play around. I’m here to get that strap and bring it home to all these great people that have supported me since Day 1,” he said.
Giglotti Tested by Mason
Former BKB champion Harry Gigliotti won his BKFC debut. But it wasn’t easy.
Veteran Timmy Mason (2-4) gave the unbeaten Giglotti (6-0) a battle before Gigliotti ended the fight in round two.
Mason, a southpaw, landed some good lefts and fought well in the the clinch in round one. He dropped Gigliotti late in the round with a right uppercut and follow up punches. It was the first knockdown of Gigliotti’s bare knuckle career.
Gigliotti recovered and landed a crushing left hook early in round two. A follow up right uppercut and left hook connected and Mason tumbled to the canvas.
He beat referee Andrew Glenn’s count but wobbled and the fight was stopped. Gigliotti called out BKFC featherweight champ Kai Stewart after the fight.
