Last Sunday, Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship held a fighter tryout in Philadelphia.
More than 60 fighters turned up and competed for a chance to compete at next year’s Knucklemania, taking place on 7 February at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philly.
The winners are now official.
BKFC announced hometown lad Christian Fayne and Maryland’s Matthew Semelsberger are the winners. Fayne and Semelsberger will face each other in a middleweight bout (175 lbs) at the 7 February event.
Knucklemania is BKFC’s annual showcase event. This year’s event, headlined by a bout between former UFC stars Eddie Alvarez and Jeremy Stephens, set a local combat sports attendance record by drawing over 17,000 fans.
BKFC is yet to announce the Knucklemania VI fight card, with the exception of the bout between tryout winners Fayne and Semelsberger.
The next BKFC event, BKFC 85, takes place on 5 December in Hollywood, Florida. Former champions Austin Trout and Luis Palomino meet in a lightweight tournament semifinal. The winner moves on to face Franco Tenaglia for the vacant BKFC Lightweight Title.
