Unbeaten knockout artist Alberto Blas (7-0, 7 KOs) will face returning champion Harold McQueen (3-2) in the main event at BKB 50.
BKB 50 takes place on 31 January, Saturday at the James L Knight Center in Miami, Florida. The bare knuckle action will broadcast live on the Talksport YouTube Channel internationally and Vice Sports in the U.S.
The Blas-McQueen fight is for the inaugural BKB Super Featherweight Title. McQueen currently holds the promotion’s featherweight belt.
Controversial Blas Gets BKB Title Shot
This is the second BKB appearance for the 31-year-old Blas.
The Cuban hits opponents like a hurricane, winning all seven of his fights by first-round stoppage. Blas is unquestionably one of the world’s best in ungloved boxing.
His out of the ring behaviour has raised questions.
Blas previously held the BKFC Bantamweight Title before the promotion stripped him of the title due to a “pattern of unprofessional behaviour”. Blas, in his defence, responded with a public statement in which he accused BKFC President David Feldman of trying to make him look bad because he had signed with rival BKB and left BKFC.
It’s also come to light that Blas was arrested and tried for “attempted felony murder” after he attacked former UFC title challenger and countryman Yoel Romero with a samurai sword. Blas was found not guilty and Romero’s decision not to testify may have played a role in Blas’s acquittal. The jury didn’t hear from the victim.
Blas’s disgusting attack on Romero happened in 2022. Yet, BKFC and later BKB signed him despite Blas being accused of trying to murder someone with a samurai sword. Attacking someone with a dangerous weapon and the intent to seriously maim or kill them isn’t something to take lightly, even in the largely amoral world of bare knuckle fighting.
Tall Task for Harold McQueen
McQueen makes his Mighty Trigon return against Blas after a 19-month absence. McQueen’s last bare knuckle fight was his exciting stoppage loss to Jon Barnard in June 2024.
Since then, McQueen competed in professional boxing, winning 1 of 3 fights against fighters with good records.
He’ll face his most dangerous opponent yet in his return.
McQueen has proven himself a gifted and skilled fighter.
That may not be enough to defeat Blas or even end his knockout streak.
