Former BKB star Dan “Indian Spice” Chapman will face number-one ranked BKFC featherweight contender Brandon Allen on 5 April in Dubai. BKFC announced the fight Sunday.
It’s the second BKFC appearance for Chapman, a former BKB champion, since signing with BKFC last year.
Fighting out of Marbella, Spain by way of Wales, Chapman (6-0, 4 KOs) debuted impressively with a first-round stoppage over Mike Jurik at BKFC Spain.
Chapman overwhelmed Jurik (1-1) with his speed and power. He knocked the Czech fighter down seconds into the bout, and scored two more knockdowns for a first-round TKO win.
He should get more of a test from Allen. The Florida-based fighter is currently the top contender to BKFC featherweight champion Kai Stewart.
Allen fights out of the well-regarded Shift MMA gym, training alongside BKFC Middleweight Champion David Mundell, former light heavyweight champ Jared Warren and female knockout artist Jessica Borgia.
Nicknamed “Superman”, Allen is 5-1 (4 KOs) in BKFC since debuting in 2021. He lost his debut by points to Jordan Nash but rebounded with a decision over Stevo Morris.
Allen won his next two fights by knockout and was matched with unbeaten Seth Shaffer. Shaffer is a former BYB champion who left the organisation to compete for BKFC. Allen got up from a first-round flash knockdown to stop Shaffer in the next round. The knockout was devastating enough to win “KO of the Night” honours.
Allen stopped local hero Timmy Mason in his last fight at BKFC on DAZN Montana in November. Allen knocked Mason down four times in an exciting brawl before the fight was stopped in round three.
Chapman will be the toughest test of Allen’s career. He’s never faced a fighter with Chapman’s speed, power and skill. Chapman meanwhile, takes a big step up in competition after defeating an overmatched Jurik. Whoever wins could be next in line for a title shot against the winner of the Stewart-Strydom bout taking place on the same card.
