BKFC Featherweight Champion Kai Stewart will defend the title against challenger Nico Gaffie in the BKFC 87 main event.
BKFC 87 takes place on 20 March at The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida. Broadcast details for the event are to be confirmed.
Stewart (8-0, 2 KOs) will fight for the first time in almost a year. In his last bout, he won a unanimous decision over Tommy Strydom in Dubai last April.The flamboyant Montana native, known for his trademark cowboy hat and online trash talk, will be defending the featherweight crown for the fifth time.
Gaffie (3-0, 3 KOs) is currently the third-ranked BKFC contender at 145 lbs. The Spaniard showed he’s a force in bare knuckle with a dominant stoppage win over contender Brandon Allen last spring.
At BKFC Rome this past October, Gaffie stopped Dutchman Jelle Zeegers in the first round. A veteran of nearly 50 kickboxing and Muay Thai matches, Gaffie brings experience, power, and grit into the showdown with the skilled Stewart.
Further bouts are to be announced. Another sellout crowd will be expected at The Hard Rock, which has become BKFC’s home base in Florida.
