Lorenzo Hunt Steroid Ban Over: Challenging Josh Dyer at BKFC 84

Former two-division BKFC champ Lorenzo Hunt will challenge Josh Dyer for the BKFC light heavyweight belt on 15 November.

The championship bout headlines BKFC 84 in Palm Desert, California. The event will stream on DAZN.

Hunt was suspended for 18 months and fined for testing positive for prohibited substances after his stoppage defeat to Mick Terrell at Knucklemania IV in April 2024.

The November bout will be over 18 months since Hunt tested positive, so the ban will be over when he steps in to face Dyer.

Hunt is a great of the modern bare knuckle era, winning BKFC light heavyweight and cruiserweight titles. He’s won 11 of 13 bouts-his only losses at heavyweight to current BKB champion Gustavo Trujillo and Terrell.

Along the way, “The Juggernaut” has scored victories over Mike Richman, Chris Camozzi, Joe Riggs and Hector Lombard.

The Dyer fight is a rematch of a previous bout won by Hunt in April 2021. Hunt stopped Dyer in five rounds.

It’s Dyers first title defence since dethroning Mike Richman by fourth-round TKO in May.

If Hunt is victorious, he may move back up to cruiserweight to fight cruiserweight champ Chris Camozzi. Camozzi publically taunted Hunt after his positive drug test. Camozzi, who lost a close decision to Hunt in 2023, won the vacant title after Hunt was suspended.

But talk of a Camozzi-Hunt rematch is premature.

Hunt will need to defeat the improved Josh Dyer on 15 November.

Camozzi must get past Alessio Sakara this Saturday night at BKFC 83 in Rome.
