Britain’s Mick Terrill will defend his BKFC Heavyweight Title against UFC veteran Ben Rothwell at Knuckle Mania V on 25 January in Philadelphia. The bout will be the co-main event to the previously announced Eddie Alvarez v Jeremy Stephens match.
The 41-year-old Terrill, fighting out of North Shields, Tyne and Wear, is fighting for the first time since defeating Lorenzo Hunt at KnuckleMania IV last April. The first-round TKO over Hunt improved Terrill’s bare knuckle record to 9-1 (9 KOs). He’s currently on a four-fight win streak, including a TKO win over former champ Arnold Adams. Adams handed Terrill his sole defeat in July 2021.
Rothwell is 3-0 (3 KOs) in bare knuckle, including quick knockouts against Bobo O’Bannon and Todd Duffee. He’ll be the biggest and most powerful opponent Terrill has faced, and “Big Ben” has yet to go past the third round in BKFC.
Other bouts official besides the Alvarez and Terrill fights are a female contender clash between Taylor Starling and former champ Bec Rawlings, and a matchup between Bryce Hall and Kimbo Slice Jr.
KnuckleMania V will be streamed exclusively on DAZN. The action begins at 8pm local Philadelphia time, which is 1am Sunday January 26 in the UK.
