Croatia’s Marko Martinjak successfully defended the BKB Bridgerweight Title with a first-round demolition of Ike Villanueva. The world title fight headlined BKB 51 Saturday at The Indigo at the o2 in London.
Martinjak knocked Villanueva down three times before the fight was stopped by referee Clive Allison.

Villanueva got up and Martinjak attacked, with a right dropping the UFC veteran and former BKB heavyweight titlist for the second time.
Referee Allison looked Villanueva over before he allowed the fight to continue. A Martinjak left dropped Villanueva for the third time and the fight was stopped.

Scott McHugh def. Martin Refell-Split Decision
Former BKB British champ McHugh defeated former title challenger Refell by narrow split decision in the BKB 51 co-main event.
Refell closed the distance and worked the inside game, and seemed to outwork McHugh in the fight’s first half.
But “The Mute” picked up the pace late in the bout, and the late rally earned him the win by scores of 49-46, 48-47, and 47-48.

Altamimi controlled the bout throughout. He was strong in the clinch and landed some good punches before the finish.
Kevin Greenwood def. Tony Barratt-TKO Round 1
Fan favourite Greenwood ended a two-fight losing streak with an early win against Barratt.
Barratt let his hands go early, as he looked to land to body and head. Greenwood stayed close.
With Barratt on the ropes, Greenwood got through with an uppercut that ended the fight.

Joe Cokayne def. Anthony Scotford-TKO Round 4
Cokayne improved to 3-0 with a late stoppage over the game Scotford in a bridgerweight matchup.
Scotford (1-1) dropped Cokayne early in the first round but Cokayne knocked Scotford down moments later.
Cokayne controlled the bout with his boxing skills but Scotford countered effectively.
In the fourth, Cokayne closed the show with three knockdowns of Scotford before the referee waved the fight off.

Harvey Dossett vs Hector Gailbraith-NO CONTEST
A technical bout between Dossett and Gailbraith was cut short after Dossett suffered a cut from an accidental elbow late in round one. The fight was stopped by the ringside doctor between the first and second rounds.

In the opening main card bout, Gittens (6-0) came off the canvas to earn a second-round stoppage over the tough Healey (4-5, 1 No Contest). Gittens earned a shot against BKB Welterweight Champion Javon Wright with the win.
Healey boxed well early and dropped Gittens with a right hand.

Gittens scored a second knockdown early in the second round. The fight was stopped soon after because of an injury suffered by Healey.
BKB 51 Prelims Results
In the opening preliminary bout, Ashley Devenport (2-0) was too strong and skilled for Liam Blackwell (3-1). Devenport dropped Blackwell in rounds one and two before the fight was stopped by the referee. Blackwell also lost a point for excessive holding.

The fighters got down to business, with Teruel (2-0) getting the better of the exchanges. A Teruel left dropped Haley (0-1) to his knees for the count. Official time was 30-seconds of round one.
Aaron Ashton def. Brad Donovan-KO Round 1
In an upset, Ashton (1-3) claimed his first bare knuckle victory with a first-round stoppage over Donovan (4-2).
Ashton finished Donovan with a pair of uppercuts after he got the better of the bridgerweight bout from the opening bell. Donovan was cut and his mouth was open despite the fight still in its early stages.
Ashton dedicated the fight to his late father, who raised the fighter and his siblings as a single parent.

Matthews came from behind to get the knockout win.
O’Neill (3-3) had the edge in round one and cut Matthews. In round two, Matthews (2-1) connected with a right hand and left hook that dropped O’Neill to all fours for the count.

Tom Pratt def. Will Dermietzel-Unanimous Decision
Pratt survived a mid-rounds scare to earn a unanimous decision over Dermietzel in the final BKB 51 prelim.
Pratt used his left jab to set up right hands on the taller Dermietzel. Through two rounds, the smaller Pratt was in control.
In round three, it seemed the tide had changed. Dermietzel landed a combination that knocked down a tired Pratt.

But Pratt regrouped, using his left jab to sccore points and outwork Dermitezel down the stretch. All three judges scored the bout 48-45 for Pratt, who used his right hand sparingly late in the fight.
