Troy Palmer def. Dorian Darch-TKO Round 3
Palmer improved to 4-1 with a TKO over Darch (3-6) in a battle of Welsh heavyweights.
Palmer landed accurate shots that cut Darch and caused swelling underneath the eye. By late in round two, Darch looked the worse for wear, spitting out his mouthpiece. Darch was also docked a point for trying to hit Palmer after he fell to the canvas.
Palmer continued to score and the fight was stopped in round three. Darch showed his big heart and neither fighter scored a knockdown. Once again, Darch’s tendency to cut and swell led to a defeat.

Simey Doherty SHOCKS Kallum Skhane
Spoiler Simey Doherty (8-2) turned back local hero Kallum Skhane by narrow split decision in a BKB 49 featured attraction.
It was a beautiful and technical battle. I thought Skhane would nick it because of home advantage. But it was “The Smoke from Stoke”, the punch frugal and defencive virtuoso, who pilfered the judges’ scorecards.

A well deserved win for the Philippines’ Dy. A learning experience for Rees, whose technical shortcomings were exposed against the veteran.
A great night for MMA, with veterans Chadwick and Dy winning against Boardman and Rees.
