BKB Super Welterweight Champion Rolando Dy’s title defence against British legend Scott McHugh is the new BKB 60 main event. BKB 60 takes place on 10 October at Newcastle’s Utilita Arena. Tickets are now available via AXS.com.
Dy’s fight against McHugh was originally scheduled as the co-main event. BKB announced the fight as the new BKB 60 headliner after Mick Terrill withdrew because of a cut.
Terrill, the former BKFC heavyweight champ, stepped in on late notice to challenge BKB heavyweight king Gustavo Trujillo last weekend in Miami. The unbeaten Trujillo stopped the game Terrill with a body shot late in the second round.
Terrill will still be in the house at BKB 60 but as a “special guest” according to BKB CEO David Tetreault, who praised the “The Butcher of Shields” for facing the fearsome Trujillo on short notice.
“We originally announced Newcastle with Mick Terrill headlining in his hometown, and there is no version of this card we wanted more,” said Tetreault.
“Last week, on less than three days’ notice, Mick stepped in against heavyweight champion Gustavo Trujillo while he was already traveling to Miami to promote BKB 60. That is who he is.”
“He came out of that fight with a cut that will not be healed in time for October, so we look forward to welcoming him back as a special guest, helping us host the fans and taking it in the Trigon side,” he said.
Terrill was scheduled to face hard-punching pro boxer Kamil Sokolowski in the main event. Fans will now get to see Dy (6-1), best known for his knockout of former boxing champion Paulie Malignaggi, against modern era legend McHugh (17-5), a veteran of over 20 bare knuckle fights. According to Tetreault, the battle between MMA veteran Dy and former champ McHugh is a worthy main event for BKB 60.
“Rolando Dy vs. Scott McHugh is exactly the kind of fight we want at the top of the bill for our first-ever event in Newcastle,” said Tetreault.
“Dy has been on an incredible run in BKB, while McHugh is a proven champion who has been in some of the toughest fights in the history of the sport.”
“When you put these two together, you have the makings of a tremendous main event, and we expect both fighters to bring everything they have when they step into the Trigon on October 10. Newcastle is in for a special night,” he said.
Unbeaten Harding Rematches Winiarski at BKB 60
The new BKB 60 co-main event is a Wales vs Scotland battle between unbeaten Keiron Harding (3-0) and Scotland’s David Winiarski (7-1).
Harding handed Winiarski his first professional bare knuckle defeat by third-round TKO at BKB 49 in Cardiff last December. Winiarski rebounded from the loss with a second-round TKO win over former title challenger James Connelly in May. The Scottish fighter also holds a win over top contender Simey Doherty, outpointing “The Smoke from Stoke” over 5 rounds in Wolverhampton in 2025.
The Harding-Winiarski II winner will move closer to a shot at the BKB Super Middleweight Title, currendly held by Lorawnt “Smash” Nelson.
Also confirmed for action at BKB 60 in separate bouts are former boxing champion JoJo Diaz and unbeaten prospect and MMA veteran Adel Altamimi.
