BKFC Knucklemania 6: Results and Photos

BKFC Knucklemania 6 took place Saturday night before a sold-out crowd of over 18,000 at Philadelphia’s Xfinity Mobile Arena.

In the main event, Andrei Arlovski defeated MMA rival Ben Rothwell to win the BKFC Heavyweight Title. Arlovski’s speed and boxing skills were the difference. The fight was stopped in round three because of cuts.

Lorenzo Hunt Defeats David Mundell

Lorenzo Hunt defeated David Mundell in a match up between the promotion’s two best pound-for-pound fighters. Reigning light heavyweight champion Hunt’s size and power were too much for middleweight king Mundell. Hunt knocked Mundell down with a right hand late in round two, and floored him for the count with another right in round four.

Garbarino Dominates Tomlinson

Hometown favourite Johnny “Canoli” Garbarino dominated Kane Tomlinson Jr in their middleweight grudge match. Garbarino knocked Tomlinson down seven times before the fight was finally stopped in the fifth round.

Richman, Wong Victorious

Former light heavyweight champion Mike Richman and former female flyweight title challenger Jade Maisson-Wong were victorious at Knucklemania VI.

Richman defeated Joe Elmore by majority decision in a middleweight bout. Richman scored a knockdown with a body shot, and won by scores of 49-45, 48-46 and 47-47.

Maisson-Wong defeated Crystal Pittman for the second time. She previously beat Pittman around five years ago. In the rematch,
all three judges scored the bout 50-45 for Wong, giving her every round.

UK’s Bonner Earns Title Shot

Former BKFC interim lightweight champion Ben Bonner prevailed over Tony Soto in their lightweight bout. The judges favoured the Brit by scores of 49-46 (twice) and 48-47.

With the win, Bonner is first in line to face the winner of the Austin Trout-Franco Tenaglia lightweight title tournament final, scheduled for sometime this year. It’s Bonner’s second win over the tough Soto-he beat him on points at BKFC Texas last year.
