Former BYB Heavyweight Champion and UFC veteran Ike Villanueva makes his UK debut on 9 November.
Villanueva takes on Gary Slator as part of the stacked card, which features two BYB Police Gazette world title fights.
It’s a bounce back fight for Villanueva, nicknamed “The Hurricane”. After beating DJ Linderman for the BYB Heavyweight Title, Ike lost the title by knockout to Gustavo Trujillo in his first defence.
The defeat dropped Villanueva’s BYB record to 3-1 (3 KOs). A win against Slator will put his name in the conversation to face the winner of a December showdown between Trujillo and BKB champion Richie Leak.
Slator will enter the Villanueva bout as the less experienced fighter. According to boxrec, he’s only fought once in bare knuckle.
Slator defeated veteran Rob Cunningham by first-round stoppage at a BKFC Prospects event in Newcastle in June. He’ll be the underdog on paper, but one punch can change everything in a bare knuckle fight. Especially in the heavyweight division.
