Rico Franco Calls Out Luis Palomino

BKFC welterweight contender Rico Franco has his eyes set on a showdown with former two-division champion Luis Palomino.

Franco called Palomino out in an Instagram post Saturday, warning “The Baboon” that he’ll be Palomino’s next opponent.

“Luis Palomino, listen. We’ve both done five rounds with Austin Trout. We both lost a decision.”

“I did a better job than you. I deserved that fight and you was begging for a rematch,” Franco said.

“Not giving me any respect for fighting Austin Trout.”

“Listen, me and you, we’re going next. Stop avoiding my comments. Stop avoiding me and let’s get it on,” he said.

Franco wrapped up the post by saying he was willing to fight a no-rules fight against Palomino in America, where Palomino is based. “Let’s go, little midget,” Franco said, referring to the shorter Palomino.

After losing to Trout earlier this month, Franco remains in the BKFC welterweight rankings at number three. Palomino isn’t ranked at welterweight, but holds a place in the lightweight top five. The BKFC Lightweight title is held by Franco Tenaglia, who claimed the belt at BKFC Spain.

A win against Palomino puts Franco back in the title fight conversation. If Palomino prevails, he probably earns an immediate title shot. Both fighters have shown outstanding boxing skills during their bare knuckle careers. A Palomino-Franco match up would be highly anticipated by bare knuckle fans.
