Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship released the full fight card for its return to Southern California this Friday, 22 May.
BKFC 89 takes place at the Acrisure Arena in the Coachella Valley city of Palm Desert. Fans can catch the main card on DAZN starting at 10pm Eastern time, which is 3am Saturday morning in the UK.
As noted last week, former boxing super featherweight champion Jamel Herring takes on hard-hitting Michael Larrimore for the BKFC bantamweight belt in the main event. A Herring win will make him the second pro boxing champion to win a bare knuckle title in the modern era. Former BKFC Welterweight Champion Austin “No Doubt” Trout, a well respected former junior middleweight titleholder, was the first.
The light heavyweight co-main event matches Cody Vidal of Huntington Beach against former title challenger Jomi Escoboza. Vidal comes off a thrilling fifth-round stoppage over David Simpson. Vidal got up from a second-round knockdown and scored a last round KO with a devastating right hand. Escoboza returns after a one-year layoff.
MMA veteran Chase Gormley takes on veteran Leo Costa at heavyweight in the featured fight. California prospects David Diaz and Iman Williams see action in bantamweight and cruiserweight bouts, and Russian veteran Evgenii Kurdanov takes on Erik Lopez.
