After a quiet January and February, Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship will continue its busy schedule into the summer.
The promotion announced events in Europe and Latin America, and also a visit to Sturgis, South Dakota for the third straight year.
BKFC to Debut in Naples and Uruguay
After events in Florence and Rome, BKFC visits the Italian city of Naples for the first time on 18 July. The fight card is to be announced.
Italy is home to the promotion’s cruiserweight champion Alessio Sakara. Sakara defeated fellow UFC veteran Chris Camozzi by close decision to win the title last October in Rome. Camozzi has since retired.
Other notable Italian fighters include Ernesto Papa and Walter Pugliesi. Pugliesi stopped previously unbeaten UK champ Karl Thompson by first-round stoppage at BKFC Rome.
A week later, BKFC visits the Uruguayan capital of Montevideo on 25 July. It’s the promotion’s first visit to Uruguay, but not Latin America.
BKFC held an event in Cancun, Mexico back in 2019. Modern female bare knuckle pioneer “Rowdy” Bec Rawlings retained her Police Gazette Women’s Title by unanimous decision over Cecilia Flores.
BKFC Returning to Sturgis
BKFC will also return to Sturgis this summer on 9 August. The event takes place during the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, when thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts convene in Sturgis for a week of camraderie and celebration.
The 2024 event was headlined by a women’s title bout between Britain Hart and Taylor Starling. Hart retained her strawweight belt by close decision.
Last year, Julian Lane defeated Gorjan “Gogo” Slaveski to win the BKFC Welterweight Title. Starling faced Shelby Cannon in a battle of female contenders. She won a close but questionable decision.
BKFC hasn’t announced any matches for this year’s fight card yet. Let’s hope we get another entertaining world title fight main event.
BKFC: Other Dates
Other summer events are scheduled for Philadelphia on 3 July and 12 September in Serbia, another new destination. BKH will keep you updated on the latest BKFC news.
