BKB Bare Knuckle Boxing Signs Former BKFC Champ Mick Terrill

BKB Bare Knuckle Boxing today announced it signed former BKFC Champion Mick Terrill to a promotional agreement.

Terrill, 42, is widely regarded as the UK’s best heavyweight bare knuckler. He won the vacant BKFC title in 2023 with a stoppage win over Arnold Adams.

Terrill successfully defended the belt at Knucklemania IV with a first-round stoppage of Lorenzo Hunt. Hunt was knocked down and couldn’t continue because of a freak arm injury caused by his arm landing awkwardly when he fell.

Terrill lost the belt in his first defence by devastating knockout to UFC veteran Ben Rothwell. In his last bout, Terrill (10-2, 10 KOs) defeated Scotland’s Jay “Ghost” McFarlane by stoppage at BKFC Fight Night Newcastle.

Return to His Roots

Today’s signing reunites Terrill with BKB Bare Knuckle, where “Big Mick” started his no gloves career. Terrill debuted in BKB in 2016 with a stoppage win over Karl Cook.

He went 5-0 with the promotion, including wins over Josh Burns and former boxer Danny Batchelder, before signing with BKFC. Now, Terrill is back with his former organisation, although there have been some changes. BKB merged with American organisation BYB Extreme in 2024 and now uses BYB’s “Mighty Trigon” triangle-shaped ring and three minute rounds (BKB rounds were 2 minutes before). Terrill acknowledged the differences in a video interview.

“I think coming back here it’s gonna be a fresh start cause everything’s changed. The whole setups changed. The rings changed. The opponents have changed,” he said.

“When I was there originally, I think I wiped out what was there. Everything’s better.”

“Eyes on the Prize”: Terrill Gunning for Trujillo

Terrill said “the BKB heavyweight division is stacked at the minute” and his eyes “is on the prize”, the BKB heavyweight belt currently held by unbeaten knockout artist Gustavo “The Cuban Assassin” Trujillo.

“He’s the number one and I’ve never come anywhere to be number two. I want to be number one,” said Terrill.

“Trujillo’s the fight. You gotta respect the man. He’s good. He’s big, he’s strong, he’s fast.”

“You just gotta get in there. I think I can do him.”
