Three of the UK’s biggest bare knuckle stars have been added to the BKFC 91 event in Naples, Italy on 18 July. Modern era legend Jimmy Sweeney, former title challenger Danny Christie, and Wales phenom Dan “Indian Spice” Chapman are scheduled for action.
Sweeney will make his ring return after a stoppage loss to welterweight contender Carlos Trinidad-Snake last October.
The “Celtic Warrior” will face Italy’s Nicholas Vescio, who makes his BKFC debut.
Christie (5-3 BKFC record) will also face an Italian opponent. Enzo Tobbia (1-1) will take on the veteran in a middleweight bout. It’s Christie’s first BKFC bout since a TKO loss to Connor Tierney last June.
Tobbia won his BKFC debut in Florence with a stoppage over Michael Igwegbe. He was stopped in Rome last October by Ouadia Tergui.
Chapman (6-1) lost for the first time against contender James “Get Down” Brown in his last bout. The former BKB star will take on Marco Giustarini (1-1).
Two European Titles on the Line at BKFC Naples
Two European title fights are also official for BKFC Naples.
Unbeaten Slovakian Tomis Melis (5-0) meets Germany’s Toni Estorer (5-2) for the BKFC European Light Heavyweight Championship. Melis stopped former title challenger Andrea Bicchi in one round to earn the opportunity. Estorer has won three of four fights since losing his bare knuckle debut in 2021.
In the other title bout, unbeaten Italian Ernesto Papa (3-0) will face Czech veteran Jindrich Byrtus (10-2). The bout will be for the BKFC European Cruiserweight Championship.
