BKB Announces Partnership With Malignaggi, Ricky Hatton Foundation

BKB Bare Knuckle Boxing announced a partnership with Paulie Malignaggi and The Ricky Hatton Foundation for its 16 May event in Manchester.

BKB 54: Mayhem in Manchester takes place at the AO Arena. Tickets can be purchased online via AXS.com. Check our recent article for fight card information.

The Ricky Hatton Foundation is a charity dedicated to the memory of the late Ricky Hatton. Hatton, the beloved former junior welterweight champion, tragically passed away at age 46 last September. An inquest later revealed he died by hanging.

Hatton spoke about his mental health issues, and The Foundation was set up in his memory to increase mental health awareness through sport and community outreach.

Hatton and Malignaggi fought each other in 2008, a bout won by Hatton via late round TKO. The two gladiators struck up a lasting friendship, and Paulie and BKB have partnered with The Foundation for the 16 May event. A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will be “donated directly” to the Ricky Hatton Foundation.

It’s classy gesture by Malignaggi and BKB and it’s only fitting BKB 54 is taking place at the AO Arena, the very same arena where Hatton thrilled thousands of Manchester fans as well as miilions watching around the world on television.
