This Saturday September 26, Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship returns to Manchester’s AO Arena. Former UFC stars Darren Till and Yoel Romero face one another in an intriguing bare knuckle clash.
Romero is the more experienced bare knuckle fighter. The Cuban Olympian has competed in both bare knuckle boxing and MMA. He defeated Theo Doukas in his BKFC debut last September before losing a controversial decision in Russia to Vagab Vagabov. Romero debuted in bare knuckle MMA this past May with a first-round win over Alex Nicholson.
Till debuted for BKFC in May with a stoppage win over Aaron Chalmers in Birmingham. Just 33 years of age comnpared to Romero’s 49, he’ll be the favourite heading into Saturday night’s showdown. Till and Romero never faced off in the UFC Octagon. Instead, they’ll finally fight in a bare knuckle boxing match in BKFC’s “Squared Circle” ring.
Redneck Returns
As previously reported, BKFC Middleweight Champion Dave “The Redneck” Mundell (10-2) defends the title for the fifth time against the UK’s Jack Cullen (2-0).
It’s Mundell’s first ring outing since a fourth-round stoppage defeat to BKFC’s two-division champion Lorenzo Hunt at Knucklemania in Philadelphia.
Mundell accepted the Hunt fight on short notice and at at the cruiserweight limit, He weighed 196 1/4 lbs against Hunt- over 20 lbs more than the middleweight limit.
In his middleweight return, Mundell will have to navigate a huge height difference against Cullen. The Brit is listed as being six inches taller than Mundell although he’s vastly less epxerienced in bare knuckle.
Mundell’s level of competition is also much higher, with wins over Julian Lane, Mike Richman and Francesco Ricchi. Cullen is an experienced pro boxer witn nearly 30 pro bouts. It’s likely he’ll try to use his height and reach advantages and try to catch Mundell with power shots.
In other BKFC 94 action, unbeatens Gaz Corran (2-0) and Mac Bygraves (3-0) meet in a BKFC UK middleweight championship bout. Karl Thompson defends his UK cruiserweight belt against Andy Thornton (2-0).

Saturday’s event is available through the BKFC app. Fans in the UK can purchase the event via DAZN pay-per-view.

BKFC 94 Fighr Week
BKFC 94 Fight Week begins tomorrow, September 24, with the official press conference.
The BKFC 94 press conference is scheduled to begin at 3pm local time, which is 10am on the east coast.
On Friday, the offical weigh-in will be held, starting at 6pm local Manchester time. The BKFC YouTube channel will stream the weigh-ins live.
Then on Saturday, it’s fight night. The BKFC App will stream the event internationally but the DAZN in the UK is charging £24.99 to stream the event in the UK on pay-per-view.
