Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship returns to Connecticut’s Mohegan Sun Casino this Friday night. Headlining the fight card is an intriguing welterweight matchup between an unbeaten rising contender and former title challenger.
Undefeated Bryce Henry (7-0), currently BKFC’s second-ranked welterweight, takes on top rated Carlos Trinidad-Snake (7-1).
Both young men are coming off massive wins. Trinidad-Snake knocked out legend Jimmy Sweeney last October in Rome. Henry meanwhile defeated former champion Julian Lane by disqualification in March.
The winner will be in line for a title shot against either welterweight champion Dustin Pague or interim champ Rico Franco, who won the interim belt with a devastating knockout of Connor Tierney in Birmingham in May.
Vidal Takes on “Dark Knight”
The BKFC Fight Night Mohegan Sun co-feature matches light heavyweight contender Cody Vidal (4-1-1) against veteran Joseph “The Dark Knight” Creer (6-3).
Vidal upset former title challenger Jomi Escoboza by first-round stoppage in his last fight. Creer meanwhile, traveled to Hawaii where he beat local Keali Kanekoa. Both men enter the fight on three-bout win streaks.
The two fighters defeated common opponent David Simpson. Creer outpointed Simpson while Vidal stopped the veteran in the fifth round.
The BKFC light heavyweight title is currently held by Lorenzo Hunt, who also holds the promotion’s newly established “Ironweight” title.
