Unbeaten welterweight contender Bryce Henry staked a claim for a title opportunity with a dramatic second-round knockout of Carlos Trinidad-Snake Friday. The bout headlined BKFC Fight Night Mohegan Sun and streamed live on the BKFC+ App and DAZN.
Henry (8-0, 8 KOs) controlled the bout with his height, reach and speed while it lasted. He landed clean jabs throughout the bout, which was fought mainly at long range.

Trinidad-Snake got inside occasionally but couldn’t do much damage in the clinch.
In the latter part of round two, a Henry right dropped the Nebraskan, who gamely arose before being knocked down by another Henry right. The referee waved off the fight.

“It’s two guys I really want, Dave,” Henry told BKFC President Dave Feldman during the postfight interview.
“Either Dustin Pague or Rico Franco,” he said, referring to BKFC Welterweight Champion Pague and interim champ Franco.
“If I can’t get them, I gotta get a fight by the end of this year.”
“You know, December 11th, the Hard Rock. I want the one and the only Dave Mundell. Easy money,” said Henry.
Feldman shook hands with Henry on him fighting by the end of the year, with Henry even mentioning BKFC Light Heavyweight Champion Lorenzo Hunt as someone he’s willing to face.

While Henry’s next opponent is uncertain, one thing is clear: with his height (6 feet 4 inches tall), reach, speed and boxing ability, he’s a problem for anyone in BKFC’s welterweight or middleweight divisions.
Joseph Creer Puts on Masterclass Against Cody Vidal
Joseph “The Dark Knight” Creer boxed his way to a unanimous decision win over Cody Vidal in the co-main event, prevailing by scores of 50-45 (twice) and 49-46.
Creer peppered the hands-high Vidal with right jabs, straight lefts and hooks as the Californian marched forward, sporadically mixing in uppercuts and hooks to the body.

Vidal was cut near the hairline in round one and swelled up under the left and right eyes, his face showing the effects of Creer’s handiwork.
Some fans booed the lack of toe-to-toe action in the late rounds. But it was a beautiful display of bare knuckle fighting – Creer focused on accuracy and movement and didn’t give Vidal the opportunity to land a home run punch.

“I was definitely surprised to the damage,” Creer told BKFC’s Chris Lytle, when asked if he was surprised Vidal absorbed so much punishment.
“I thought maybe early in the first or second, they’d stop it because of the cuts. He kept coming. We had to go all five,” he said.
“I started to throw the rear uppercut. He was taking em. That’s why I had to stuff his head a lot.”
Creer improves to 7-3 (5 KOs) with the win. It’s his fourth straight victory since an early stoppage loss to former champion Jared Warren early last year.

Joey Gambino, Sito Navarro Victorious
In the BKFC Mohegan Sun Fight Night featured bout, Joey Gambino improved his BKFC record to 2-0 with a second-round stoppage of South Africa’s Tommy Strydom.
Gambino was just too powerful for the former title challenger. He landed heavy shots on the inside and dumped Strydom and snapped his head back with lefts at distance.

Gambino dropped Strydom in the first before finishing him early in round two with a left. Strydom held his right eye as he went down, and was counted out by referee Kerry Hatley.

Bantamweight prospect Lardy “Sito” Navarro came off the canvas to defeat Robert Fichtner by second-round stoppage.
Fichtner pushed the pace early and dropped Navarro with what looked like an overhand right on the inside.
“Stay down,” he yelled at Navarro as referee Hatley counted.
Navarro remained composed and clinched after getting back to his freet.
Early in round two, the Puerto Rican southpaw landed a left to Fichtner’s eye that caused him to take a knee. Fichtner beat the count but was still holding his right eye, leading veteran ref Hatley to wave off the bout.

After the match, Navarro faced off with former title challenger Ryan Reber, setting up a possible showdown in October at BKFC Fight Night Clearwater.
