BKFC on DAZN Hollywood Results: Mike Richman Wins Title

The third time’s the charm.

Mike Richman won a BKFC title in his third attempt, knocking out Jared Warren in the first round Saturday in Hollywood, Florida. The light heavyweight bout headlined BKFC on DAZN 3 held at the Hard Rock Hollywood.

Warren started well, scoring with lefts set up by the right jab. Richman took the punches well.

Richman caught Warren with a right hook after a Warren jab, knocking “Captain Deadpool” on his back. A stunned Warren rose by the count of eight.

After the action continued, Richman dropped Warren with another right, causing referee Andrew Glenn to wave off the fight. Official time was 44 seconds of round one.

“It feels good to be back,” Richman told interviewer Cyrus Fees after the fight.

“I always take pride that I’m coming up in weight, and I’m putting myself in danger every fight against these big boys.”

“Ten years ago, I was a 135er. Now look at me. Still knocking dudes out at 85 (185 lbs).

Richman improved his bare knuckle record to 7-2 (7 KOs) with the win. The losses came in unsuccessful title challenges against former light heavyeight champion Lorenzo Hunt and current middleweight king David Mundell.

Ferea Retains BKFC Women’s Flyweight Title

In the co-main event, Christine Ferea retained her BKFC Women’s Flyweight Title with a fourth-round TKO over game challenger Christine Vicens.

Ferea was just too powerful for Vicens, getting the better of the action in the clinch and at range. Vicens was cut early and ate some heavy shots from the champion.

Ferea knocked the challenger down in round four. Vicens gamely rose and kept coming forward.

Vicens crashed inside, trying to get the clinch, and both women tumbled to the canvas. After the fighters got up, referee Samuel Burgos had Vicens checked by the ringside doctor

With blood pouring from Vicens nose and her left eye nearly closed, the doctor advised Burgos to stop the fight. Ferea praised Vicens for her courage.

“First off, I got to thank Christine Vicens for bringing the fight. Being a warrior. And not giving up no matter what,” Ferea told Cyrus Fees.

“I’m going to keep it (the title) forever. You don’t like me? Watch me shine,” she said.

Ferea was asked who interests her as an opponent-either within or from outside the BKFC organisation.

“Out of the organisation, I just want really skilled, high-level fighters,” she said.

“In the promotion, if Jessica Borga’s fat ass wants to come down to 135, let’s f___n go bitch,” said Ferea.

It’s Ferea’s fifth successful defence of the BKFC Women’s Flyweight Title. If the organisation can’t attract a challenger from outside the league, a move up to face the unbeaten Borga or a rematch with fan favourite Jade Maisson-Wong seem to be Ferea’s best options.

Perdomo Continues KO Streak

Heavyweight contender Leonardo Perdomo improved to 6-0, all wins by first-round knockout. Perdomo stopped Levi Costa with a body shot in just 47 seconds. Costa tested Perdomo’s chin, landing a couple of solid lefts but the Cuban warrior was undeterred. After grabbing and clinching, Perdomo ended the fight with a brutal right downstairs that dropped Costa to his knees for the count.
