BKB Bare Knuckle Boxing debuts in Mexico this Saturday night with an event in the border city of Tijuana, roughly 20 miles south of San Diego.
Mexican knockout artist and reigning BKB Super Cruiserweight Champion Julian Fernandez (3-0, 3 KOs) makes his first title defence in his hometown against former champ Dan “Big Pod” Podmore (9-4, 8 KOs) of the UK.
Another Mexican standout Cecilia Ulloa (2-2) takes on Andy Nguyen (3-2) for the vacant BKB Super Flyweight Championship.
BKB 59: How to Watch
Bare knuckle is in its infancy in boxing crazy Mexico. Saturday night’s fight card features a number of debuting fighters. with professional boxing experience. There should be plenty of fireworks and quick finishes with so many bare knuckle rookies on the card.
BKB is partnering with top Mexican boxing promoter Zanfer Promotions for the event. Zanfer Promotions has promoted many of Mexico’s top champions over the years, including the likes of Juan Manuel Marquez, Jorge Arce and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
The BKB 59 main cardairs live on Vice TV and Telemundo in the United States. The TalkSPORT YouTube Boxing Channel will stream the main card live for UK fans. The main card action starts at 6pm local Tijuana time on Saturday, which is 9pm ET and 2am Sunday in the UK. Here are the main card matchups.
