BKFC held its first event in Spain Saturday.
In an absolute war, Franco Tenaglia won the BKFC Lightweight Title, winning a majority decision over Tony Soto.
Austin Trout defeated former BKB champ Rico Franco by unanimous decision. Franco gave a great effort but couldn’t deal with Trout’s boxing skills. Trout knocked Franco down twice, en route to a 5-round win by scores of 50-43 from all judges.
Mundell Defeats Christie
BKFC Middleweight king David “The Redneck” Mundell successfully retained his title with a second-round stoppage against Danny Christie.
The two warriors studied each other early, before Mundell dropped Christie during an early exchange. Christie got the worst of round one, blood trickling from his right eye and cut on the bridge of the nose.
In round two, Mundell dropped Christie early. Christie went down a second time, taking his mouthpiece out as he gazed downward. He scampered to his feet but was shaky-legged and the fight was over.
Mundell cemented himself as one of the world’s best bare knuckle fighters with the win. He’s beaten former champ Mike Richman and UK champ Christie in two of his past three fights. His only loss was by decision to Hector Lombard in 2020.
Wales fighter James Lilley suffered a setback, losing by first-round stoppage to Felipe Maia.
Dan Chapman and Hannah Rankin picked up wins in their BKFC debuts.
