Score the verbal sparring 10-9 for Chris Camozzi.
BKFC Cruiserweight Champion Camozzi and former champ Lorenzo Hunt traded insults at Sunday’s BKFC Italy press conference, with the reigning champion coming out on top.
Hunt previously beat Camozzi by split decision but vacated the title. Camozzi won the belt with a KO of Sawyer Depee last October.
Camozzi and Hunt were reunited Sunday and Hunt tried to play mind games, entering the press conference late and grabbing Camozzi’s belt off the press conference table.
“That seems like you. You wanna steal it? You wanna steal it,” Camozzi asked.
Hunt replied that he beat Camozzi unanimously and mentioned something about cheating.
“What do you know about cheating? You know about cheating, huh?, Camozzi asked.
“I didn’t even think he’d make it in the country. Look at this guy.”
Later in the press conference, Camozzi ripped Hunt for failing a drug test in 2024. Hunt was suspended for having “astronomically high” levels of testosterone. According to media reports, Hunt is ineligible to compete in the U.S. until October 2025.
““He’s gotta juice up. That’s why we had to come to Italy, home of the gladiators. Because this guy’s a cheater, he’s been juicin forever, Camozzi said.
“Take all the steroids you want. I don’t want anything You couldn’t beat me before.”
“I’m the fucking champ. This guy’s a cheatin thief.”
Hunt denied Camozzi’s remarks.
““I was suspended for 9 months because of an elbow injury. All of the juicing allegations were false, which is why I’m back,” Hunt said.
“We could have fought anywhere. I’m not suspended. I posted it. This guy’s a pretender and I’ll prove it for you. He will bleed in Italy.“
Hunt’s claims of the elbow inury as the reason for his suspension are dubious, based on online public records of the California State Athletic Commission.
One thing’s for sure. Camozzi didn’t seem intimidated by Hunt’s customary press conference antics. Given Hunt will be returning from a one-year layoff and elbow injury at age 42, he could be in for a tough night with Camozzi, who seemed confident of victory today.
