Former BKB star Tyler Goodjohn’s comeback fight is official.
BKB Bare Knuckle announced Goodjohn will return to the promotion on 18 April at BKB 40: Cardiff Brawl III.
Goodjohn (4-3, 1 KO) will face unbeaten prospect “Gypsy” Joe Smith (1-0, 1 KO) as part of a stacked BKB 40 card.
It’s the first fight in almost two years for “El Tornado”. Goodjohn hasn’t fought since a close decision loss to BKFC lightweight contender Tony Soto in May 2023.
The loss was Goodjohn’s third BKFC loss in a row, all by decision. He previously lost on points to former champion Luis Palomino and Wales’s James Lilley. After the Soto loss, Goodjohn fought a pro boxing bout before leaving his adopted hometown of Miami and returning to the UK. He makes his BKB return 5 1/2 years after defeating BKB legend Sean George.
Smith debuted at BKB 36 in February. The Swansea fighter stopped Ryan McCann in just 55 seconds of the first round.
Smith is the less experienced fighter but he’ll have home crowd support and has been given a golden opportunity. A win over a legend like Goodjohn would do wonders for his career. Goodjohn will be looking to make an impression in his return to BKB, with an eye on bigger fights. Both fighters recently signed multi-fight contracts with the promotion.
