Two-time BKFC champion Luis Palomino will return to the promotion in March. Palomino takes on fellow lightweight contender Howard Davis in the main event of BKFC Hollywood on 27 March in Hollywood, Florida.
Palomino brings a record of 9-1 (3 KOs) into the Davis bout. He’s one of the promotion’s most accomplished fighters.
He defended the BKFC Lightweight Title successfully six times after defeating Isaac Valle-Flagg for the vacant belt in 2020. “Baboon” also won the BKFC Welterweight Title from Elvin Brito in 2022.
Palomino suffered his first bare knuckle loss in his last fight. The Miami-based Peruvian was outboxed by current welterweight champ Austin Trout, losing a unanimous decision to the former WBA boxing champion.
Palomino’s lightweight title became vacant. It was claimed by Franco Tenaglia at last October’s BKFC Spain event. Palomino is currently ranked third by BKFC, behind Tony Soto and Bryce Henry.
A veteran of over 40 pro MMA bouts, the 44-year-old was supposed to debut in pro boxing last year. But Palomino has returned to BKFC, and awaiting him is the talented Davis.
Davis is a former featherweight title challenger with an overall record of 7-2-1. His losses were on cuts to Louie Lopez and by decision to current featherweight champion Kai Stewart.
Like Palomino, Davis is based in Florida. The fighter nicknamed “HD” is a difficult style matchup for many featherweights and lightweights because of his height of 6 feet 2 inches.
Davis comes into the fight on a two-fight win streak. He’s the fifth-ranked lightweight. So the winner of Palomino-Davis could be next in line for a fight with Tenaglia.
The March 27 BKFC Hollywood event will be streamed globally on DAZN.
