Knucklemania V: Ben Rothwell Knocks Out Mick Terrill to Win Title

Too big. Too strong.

Former UFC fighter “Big” Ben Rothwell captured the BKFC Heavyweight Title in spectacular fashion, knocking out Britain’s Mick Terrill in the first round.

The world heavyweight title fight was the co-main event for Saturday night’s Knucklemania V card in Philadelphia.

Rothwell connected with an accurate counter right after a Terrill left. The champion crumpled, landing on his back. Referee Andrew Glen didn’t need to finish a count, waving the fight off at the 36-second mark.

Rothwell improved to 4-0 with 4 KOs since joining BKFC. He said he was inspired by the crowd’s energy, with over 17,000 fans in attendance at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Centre.

“This crowd is the craziest, most awesome crowd that I’ve ever fought in front of. I’ve been doing this for 25 years, and I’m telling you, your energy was in my right hand and you helped me win this title,” Rothwell said.

The loss ended a four-fight undefeated streak for Terrill. His record now stands at 9-2 (9 KOs). It was Terrill’s second title defence since winning the belt in December 2023.
